Great to hear retired US Architect Anne R. Goulet, the Executive Director of Care+AIR Health, Inc., on CBS News Radio WCBM in the Baltimore market discussing the 4C's of outbreak response, international BSL (Bio Safety Level) policies, State Government duties and oversteps with regards to US Public Health codes and laws, and the availability of 21st-century technology to the US for "loss-of-function" solutions (the classic definition of containment).
She is pressing our government leaders to:
1) follow our own Public Health laws;
2) treat our SARS-CoV-2 viral adaptation like the bona fide nationwide US Public Health long-term health issue that it is; and
3) take a stronger leadership role on the global stage to propose some STEM-based solutions - including treating population adaptation like a real Public Safety and Security issue, and not letting a biological virus trample our most effective civic management processes, internally and externally.
CRITICAL THINKING AND PROJECT LEADERSHIP IS KEY!
Where is the US COVID-19 Commission for all of this? Why are they not appointing great Public Health epidemiologists like Dr. William Foege - or any graduate of the EIS (Epidemic Intelligence Service) - to explain the various "big picture" social issues and to propose workable programs that will allow us to understand and to live with our new virus? Why are they not empowering the Office of The Surgeon General and USPHS Corps? Our Communications team would LOVE to Q&A with non-biased leaders who think like that!
We shouldn't be this disorganized and unresponsive about a Public Health crisis in the 21st-century, with all of the amazing Public Health and Safety tools at our disposal, and our ability to Communicate, Care, Contain, and Continue on multiple levels, public and private.
